Wednesday, March 26th from 12 – 1 p.m.

Google AdWords – Do you ever wonder what key words are driving the most customers to your website? This class will focus on using Google AdWords as a way to test the market place to find the most valuable key words to apply to search engine optimization.  Kirk Bates, owner of 428 Marketing will show class attendees how to use this powerful business tool to drive more visitors to your website.  Kirk will remain after class to answer any personal questions.  Lunch will be provided.  Please RSVP to Hurley Buff by Friday, March 21st.

Wednesday, April 9th from 12 – 1 p.m.

Search Engine Optimization – Now that you have discovered the key words that website visitors used to search for you, learn how to improve your website’s position in the search engine ranks.  This class will focus on improving your business’s website position in the search engines.  Kirk Bates, owner of 428 Marketing will show class attendees how to use search engine optimization skills to increase your position in the search engine ranks.  Kirk will also stay after class to answer any personal questions.  Lunch will be provided.   Please RSVP to Hurley Buff by Friday, April 4th.

Intermediate QuickBooks – You asked for it…you got it.  All of you who attended the Beginners Quickbooks class – or – those of you who already have a basic knowledge of Quickbooks…this class if for you.  Scott Goble will be instructing this intermediate Quickbooks user’s class.  Sign up early though; seating is limited for this one.  RSVP to Hurley Buff as soon as possible.  Lunch will be provided.

Small Business Saturday is November 30th

Small business has long been the backbone of our country, as well as, crucial to our local communities. Small Business Saturday, celebrated on the Saturday after Thanksgiving is a day specifically dedicated to supporting small business.  It has grown into a movement that millions of individuals, businesses, and communities have embraced nationwide.

Small Business Saturday is a national effort to help independently owned merchants gain more exposure during one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year.   This year’s big event falls on Saturday, November 30.

At the Cleveland Bradley Innovation Center, patrons can have the opportunity of visiting three different businesses for their shopping pleasure.  Serendipity CB and Kim Currin Creations will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and G-Daddy’s BBQ will be hosting an open house from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.   The Cleveland Bradley Innovation Center is located at 3575 Adkisson Drive (on the campus of Cleveland State Community College) in Cleveland, TN.

Cheryl Barker, owner of Serendipity CB is a licensed massage therapist and aesthetician.  She carries her own line of all natural skin care and holistic products made in her studio.  Her gift certificates are sure to please anyone on your Christmas list.

Kim Currin, owner of Kim Currin Creations, specializes in functional glass art.  Stop by her studio to see the many unique gifts she has available for those “hard-to-buy-for” individuals on your shopping list.

Open House and Holiday Preview Event at the Cleveland Bradley Innovation Center

This Thursday night, November 14th, two businesses at the Cleveland Bradley Innovation Center will be hosting a Pre-Holiday Open House and Preview Show.  The event is scheduled from 5 – 8 p.m and is open to the public.

Cheryl Barker, owner of Serendipity CB will be having an Open House event.  Serendipity CB is located in Suite 1050.  Even if your Christmas shopping is done, you can still find some quality items for stocking stuffers.

Kim Currin Creations, located in Suite 1030 will host an informal Holiday Preview Show.  CBBI and Cleveland State employees are welcome to stop by at their leisure throughout the afternoon. There will be refreshments, registration for door prizes and special prices on a variety of in-stock items. We have a wonderful assortment of one-of-a-kind gifts for most everyone on your list.   Hope to see you there!

Upcoming Tax Seminars for Incubator Tenants

The Cleveland Bradley Business Incubator will be hosting two tax seminars during the month of November in the Incubator conference room.  Both classes are being taught by Incubator tenant Scott Goble, CPA owner of Sound Accounting and will begin at 11:30 a.m. The classes are approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours long.  Lunch is being provided.  Please RSVP to Hurley Buff if you plan to attend.

On Wednesday, November 6th,  Mr. Goble will present Tax Obligations for Small Business.   This class provides an overview of the various types of federal and Tennessee taxes imposed on small businesses.  In addition, the class provides participants with real-world (and legal) methods for minimizing and , in some cases, totally avoiding these taxes.

On Wednesday, November 20th, Mr. Goble will present Year-End Tax Planning.  This class provides a brief overview of recent changes to the tax laws and practical planning ideas for reducing one’s overall income tax bill.

These classes are being provides to CBBI and CBIC tenants through the generous support of USDA Rural Development: Rural Business Enterprise Grant.
